Canada Day Pro-Am

MONDAY, JULY 23, 2018 | 12:00 PM – Shotgun

Teams of three amateurs will be joined by one of Canada’s top golfers or Hall of Fame players with morning and afternoon tee times. This year’s event is a celebration of Canadian golf and will feature the best Canadians in the game, as well as up-and-coming stars. Proceeds from the Pro-Am benefit the Golf Canada Foundation going to support the developmental pathway in Canada including Team Canada and the Young Pro Program. The Foundation’s mission is to provide golfers and industry partners with a charitable platform to increase participation in golf by engaging players of all ages and abilities across Canada.

Hall of Fame Day (FREE Admission all day)


Join us at the stage in Spectator Village from 11:00am – 11:30am for our Hall of Fame Day celebration.

This year, legends Gail Graham and the late A.V. Macan will be welcomed into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame. Many golf greats from all generations will be on hand for autographs and to interact with fans.

Admissions for all spectators on Tuesday is FREE!

The Rink


The par-3 7th hole has been transformed into a rink-styled fan experience, complete with hockey boards, a ZAMBONI ® ice resurfacing machine, as well as the addition of new rink-side bleachers and viewing decks. Volunteer marshals on the hole will be outfitted in referee uniforms, while rink boards will outline the hole, replacing traditional roping.

Enjoy the best seats in the house at 10 locations along the rope lines in the Someday Seats! Exclusive front-row Muskoka chair seating will place you right in the action and give you the chance to see your favourite PGA TOUR stars up close. Fans will be surprised with cold drinks and snacks throughout the day to stay cool while they watch play from the best vantage points on course.

Someday Lounge at The Rink

Love golf and hockey? Head to the Someday Lounge at The Rink and be one of the first to take in the amazing greenside atmosphere as we celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday. An experience unlike any other, the lounge is situated on the par-3, 7th hole – now known as The Rink! The hole will be transformed into a hockey arena with real boards lining the hole, volunteers dressed as referees, red goal lights, a Zamboni, and an Emcee on the tee to get the crowd amped up. The Someday Lounge will also host special appearances by Team RBC Olympians, NHL alumni and more! To thank you for coming by, we’ll be handing out rally towels to add to the Canadian atmosphere and give fans the opportunity to show their love for both of Canada’s favourite pastimes.

Each time a player makes a birdie at #TheRink during the Championship, RBC will donate $1,000 to the RBC Canadian Open’s Official Charity Partner, Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada. Please join us as we cheer on players!

BMW Shuttle Service

Ride to the RBC Canadian Open in comfort and style with the BMW Shuttle Service.  A fleet of BMW 750Li’s and BMW 540i’s will be on hand from July 27th to July 30th to transport guests between Sheridan College Public Lot and the main entrance of Glen Abbey Golf Club.

Shuttles are available to all spectators on a first come, first serve basis and will begin 30 minutes before play and will conclude 30 minutes after play.

The Golf Canada Par 3 Challenge Powered by Golf In

Spectators of all ages can test their golf skills on one of the most stunning and challenging par 3s in Canadian golf – the 6th hole at Greywolf Golf Club in Panorama, B.C. dubbed ‘The Cliffhanger’. Tee off in the Golf In simulator and try to birdie the hole (or better yet have your child do it for you) on an exact replica putting green. Daily prizes will be awarded for both solo participants and family twosomes.

CN Future Links Skills Challenge – National Event

Created in 2008, the Junior Skills Challenge is an exciting program focused on developing key golf skills of putting, chipping, iron play and driving. Administered by Golf Canada and run by PGA of Canada members at facilities across Canada, participants will compete in all four skills and will be scored based on their performance in each of these categories. The CN Future Links Junior Skills Challenge National Event is broken up into three separate age categories, 9 to 11, 12-14 and 15-18 year olds. On Saturday, July 16th, 24 young athletes from across Canada will participate in the CN Future Links Junior Skills Challenge National Event that will be taking place at Glen Abbey Golf Club prior to tournament week of the RBC Canadian Open.

RBC Canadian Open 5K Golf Run

The RBC Canadian Open 5K Golf Run will be returning for the 2nd year in 2017. The five-kilometre run, jog or walk along the Glen Abbey Golf Club grounds will take place on Saturday, July 22, 2017 beginning at 9:00 am. Open to the general public, the RBC Canadian Open 5K will start near the first tee of the championship course, ultimately finishing alongside the iconic and picturesque 18th green. Participants will then be invited to watch the third-round coverage of The British Open Championship live on the big screens located along the race-route and within the Coors Light 19th Hole Beer Garden.

50/50 Raffle – Golf Canada Foundation

From Wednesday afternoon through Sunday, the Golf Canada Foundation will be selling 50/50 tickets on-site at the RBC Canadian Open. Look for volunteers with Golf Canada Foundation caddie bibs and the 50/50 kiosks which provide live updates on the draw prize! The draw will take place Sunday evening, with the winning number announced online on the tournament website and across social media channels.

Proceeds from the raffle will benefit junior golf initiatives and help to grow the game in Ontario and across the nation.
